Sport Lived would like to wish our ambassador Helen Richardson and all of the Great Britain Hockey squads the best of luck at the Olympics in Beijing.  The men’s and women’s squads are currently in Macau where they will play a number of training matches against New Zealand at the Hong Kong Football Stadium. 

Players move into the Olympic Village on 2nd August ahead of the Opening Ceremony on 8th August.  The Great Britain’s women’s team start their Olympic campaign against Germany on Sunday 10th August whilst Great Britain’s men’s team play Pakistan on Monday 11th August.  Great Britain women have Argentina, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and the USA in their group.  The men’s team are in Pool B alongside Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Pakistan and South Africa.
